we stayed at the hard rock hotel on the beach. it was in the state of jalisco. it borders the state of nayarit where puerto vallarta is located. both states are on the western central side of mexico.
a night shot on the deserted beach in front of our hotel.
as you can see hardly anyone on the beach. we arrived on a sunday, and by thursday there were more people. but still NOT crowded.
indio canopy zip line. this zip was fun; more hiking and longer faster lines than the one on our cruise.
jungley mountains
as you can see it is pretty dry. it becomes very rainy and more green later in the year(ie: august, september, october)
the "mexican zippers" were great fun! they really work it to earn those tips.
'marietas island' on our way back from the zip line, we stopped to take a photo of these rocks. they are actually caves. this is where we went jet skiing and snorkeling later in the week.
lounging at the beach.
we made some great friends on this trip. here we are at the italian restaurant at the resort having dinner one night.
zip line no. 2 this was a cute talking bird.
by this time around(our 3rd zip line this year) i felt like a pro. one thing that is funny at the zips is that they call the part you hold onto a "mexican harley"
ned hiking up to the next zip with our new friends, bobby and josh. they are from boise. these zips had a lot of hiking, which was awesome because you got a great work out and had fun!
each night we took a walk along the beach.
the coastline of puerto vallarta from a boat ride we took out to a remote island for an evening of dinner and entertainment.
on the boat headed out to 'las caletas' a island resort with dinner and entertainment, 'rhythm of the nights'
