a new adventure

with summer drawing to a close, hopefully not too soon i hope(i actually saw some leaves changing on a few trees the other day...how dare they, ugh!!) my thoughts begin to turn to the upcoming school year!!  i love learning.  i have a passion for it!  i also love teaching!  another favorite passion of mine.  put those two together and it is a recipe for a homeschooling mom.  i began this adventure with hunter when we moved to kennewick  1 1/2 years ago and after much prayer and consulting with my family and friends, we decided to homeschool all 4 kids this year(ok, will isn't technically school-age, but he is learning-age isn't he?).  we are very excited and a little anxious but having felt that this is the right choice for our family, at this time, gives me peace.  (this decision has come full circle for me since, until recently, i had been opposed to the "idea" of homeschooling)

i researched curriculum until i felt my eyes were going to "bug" right out of my head.  but after weeks and weeks of research i finally made my decisions and all the materials are ordered and ready to go!  now i just need to get my school space organized.  however, i have put that on the back burner until we get back from our trip to mt. rainier and seattle next week!  i am going to have to get a little creative since we are still renting a small space, but luckily i LOVE organizing so it shouldn't be too much WORK(i know i am weird)!

hopefully i will be a regular poster when it comes to our adventures of homeschooling, but i am not promising anything.  i picture my days being pretty FULL.  hopefully full of learning, laughter and excitement and not too many tears, i hope(on my part, that is)!!!!!  wish us luck!

Best of luck with your homeschooling adventures! You are the perfect mom for the job and I know you will do a fantastic job.
I also love the splash pads in your town! I would LOVE to have one in our town. Maybe someday...
Take care!
