it seems that those hot summer days i remember as a kid are a thing of the past. living in the nw, you learn to swim in chilly water and brave the breeze that inevitably comes to cool you to icicles even though your thermostat may read 90 degrees. i love the nw but boy have we had a run of cool weather this summer. it wasn't until the end of july we saw anything near 90 degrees. unfortunately, our cool summer has made it difficult for us to wrap our minds around the concept that school will actually begin in just over a week. but since the balmy weather has been hanging around for a few weeks, we have FINALLY found it necessary to have a reason to get wet(and without too much complaint of being cold)!
there are some splash pads in our town and so on a hot afternoon we take advantage of them to help keep us cool! while hunter's friend cameron was visiting a few weeks ago, we spent an afternoon in richland at their new splash pad. the boys love to gang up on emma!! this splash pad is particularly fun for will since he LOVES all things sports!
