rolling out of moscow last saturday was bitter-bitter. leaving friends and a place we love was difficult, but moving on to nothing much is even more difficult. however, we arrived safely to slc on sunday night after a short stay with family in aberdeen, id.
we have now been 1/2 a week in slc, utah and the verdict is this: we are not too sad to be here, but we realize that we are still in a state of shock. i normally become homesick for the place i last lived about a month AFTER moving. i am too busy packing, cleaning, hauling, unpacking, cleaning and unhauling to really think much about anything else.
we are still settling in and realizing things tucked away in storage really are a neccessity. so ned and i have already been to the storage shed to unpack, pull out what we need and repack so we can find future neccessities. the beds are up, the clothes are folded and put away, the kitchen is almost organized and the electronics will be up and going by next tuesday, we hope. for now, we use our local library for our internet connection.
the kids started school on tuesday, only 4 days after the official 1st day of school. they already are showering their school with praises. it is a dual-language charter school, so they have spanish class each day as well as spanish language incorporated into their other learning throughout the day. it is great!! they love their teachers and are in the highest level for math class. however, issy did come home from kindergarten today and said she was sent to the "power" chair and will miss recess tomorrow for not following directions. tonight is back to school night so we will need to check into exactly what is going on with her. just being issy i am sure..hahaha!!
ned continues to look for work. he applied for a few jobs yesterday...not attorney jobs, though. we are excited to get settled in and start exploring the city and all the fun things to do here.
we miss everyone in moscow and hope you will all keep in touch with us. let us know all the news!! i will send out an email and update more next week when i get a permanent connection at the house we are living in. hope you are all well!!
love ya! ash

I'm glad you made it to Utah & are getting settled!
Good luck with the job hunt. Have you guys ever looked into the AF? I know you are an Army girl but I've heard they've got stuff and seem to be family friendly (more so that is) :)
We'll have to get together when you've got time :) Julie
Glad you've survived the move. We had a rough move last time too.

glad to her you made it safe to UT. I jogged passed your house last week and was sad to look over and not see your van. :( The kids' school sound fantastic! :)
