we just spent a few days in seattle visiting with ned's family. while there, emma's aunt beckie was teaching a week long sewing camp. 2 of the girls in the camp cancelled for the first 2 days due to illness so beckie asked emma if she would like to join her for the camp. now, if you know anything about emma and how she loves to sew, you know that her answer was an ecstactic YES!! the first day of the camp she learned how to thread the machine and pivot. she also practiced sewing different shapes so she could get used to how to move her fabric under the needle/foot. she also made a small bean bag as her first sewing project. the 2nd day she made a little bag and a hat for william. emma had so much fun at her class. she has been begging me all day to get out our sewing machine so she can make some more bags, bean bags and hats for her friends. i think we will have to sign her up to take a week long sewing camp next year!! thanks beckie, it was a blast!!

That's very clever to have kids sew on paper to follow shapes. I think that's just the kind of camp I need!!! Looks like fun :)
Seriously impressive. I'm attempting to sew again, who knows if my little machine made the journey down from Moscow to Boise in one piece. I'm afraid to look!!
Miss you all, I have been on the up and up with your situation, but haven't had a chance to tell you that we've been praying for you and missing you from here. I have lemonade and a bathroom if you guys need to pit stop along your journey!!!! :)
