My dad has always wanted to go on a mission so about a month ago he told me that he and his wife had submitted their papers to go on a mission. They have been anxiously awaiting their call and it finally came today. He called today to let me know they are going to be serving a Humanitarian mission to Vietnam!! They will head to the MTC on Dec. 1. I am very excited for them and also a little tiny bit jealous. I can't wait to serve a mission with my husband one day too. This was a little unexpected since they had originally been asked to serve stateside and then they received a call asking them if they would be willing to go overseas instead. Since my dad was in the army and lived in Europe, Central America and Samoa, he kind of thought he may be sent to a similar destination. Boy, were they surprised when they read Vietnam in their letter. Congratulations Dad and Cindy!! You better get blogging now so we can read about all your awesome experiences on the other side of the world!!
