autumn waterfalls

i was in desperate need of some fall hiking.  you can't get much fall color

around these parts...we live in a shrub steppe after all.  so i gathered up the

kids and we headed to oregon for a lovely saturday afternoon of hiking and 

leaf sniffing...i know, gross, but i love the smell of fall leaves!

ned was going to come, but ended up needing to work in preparation

for an upcoming trial(which btw, the deadline was pushed back)!

The first waterfall we stopped at was horsetail falls.  

we also stopped at latourell falls.  

i love all the mossy covered rocks that were all over the place.

the next waterfall we saw was sheppards dell.  this was  a little waterfall just off the road, but it had a beautiful mossy walkway that i loved.  not to mention a gorgeous bridge.

after a COLD picnic at a little park we found, we headed over to multnomah falls.

it is impossible to get a shot with these two together..they are soo goofy!!
