east coast summer adventures-day1

hunter and emma and i spent 8 fun filled, adventure packed days back east this summer.  we spent 1/2 the time in dc and va. seeing the sites and grandma gurr and then we spent the rest of the days in pa. visiting my sisters and their cousins.  we had such a great time! our days were jammed packed with lots of site seeing.  it wasn't until we got to pa. that things slowed up a bit!!
ned, issy and will stayed in kennewick and a good friend watched them each day while we were gone.  it was a great help! we arrived late on saturday night after a long but uneventful flight from pasco to baltimore.

the next morning our cute cousin belle arrived from florida to hang out with us that week.  she and emma don't see each other very often but they are sure best buds when they get together.  sunday afternoon we spent in manassas, va. visiting the site of the famous battles of bull run.

this house was used as a medical center during the civil war.

there were several little hikes/walks around the area of bull run and we took one along the river
and over the bridge that was part of the battles.

our guide took us on a walk through the area and shared so many great
stories about the battles.  it was so informative and interesting.
