our 3rd day in dc we spent at the capitol building and the natural history museum.
the capitol building was one of my favorites. we toured the inside with an aid from our senators
office. we met in the senators office and it was pretty cool to walk down the
hallway and see many senators walking around. we rode the underground tram
into the capitol building. pretty cool.
some of our favorite sites in the capitol building were the original house and senate rooms.
i also liked to see where the original supreme court used to meet.
the architecture and the paintings of our early american heritage inside the
capitol is very inspiring. i felt a great sense of patriotism and love for our country!
one of our favorite adventures in the capitol building though was when we
were able to go sit in the balcony and watch the senate in session. they were voting on the
immigration bill that day. it was quite exciting and boring all at the same time. it was cool to hear the
senators speak and fight for their side of the bill. it was cool to see them come in and vote too.
you had to be very quiet though and of course no picture taking.
the beautiful ceiling of the rotunda.
