kind of a funny story...i was taking issy and will to the movie on monday afternoon and we packed up some candies in a baggie for each of us.
william says, "mom, we aren't suppose to take treats into the theater, right?"
i'm like, "ya, its okay, it's not that big of a deal."
william says, "mom, that's not choosing the right."
(teaching moment here, i think to myself) "yes, will, you are correct. it isn't choosing the right. it is dishonest. what should we do?"
he says, "i think i'm not going to take mine and mom i think we should pray to jesus."
"what for bud?"
"so we can tell him we're sorry and he can help us make a better choice."
so, i did say a little prayer in the car about making good choices. then he and i left our treats in the car.
issy, was there and was like, "mom what should i do?"
i said, "issy it's up to you." you could tell she was struggling!! in the end, she took her treat and ate it.
will and i were happy we didn't lie and take our treats in the theater and i even splurged and bought a huge soda pop to drink during the movie.
i guess he is learning something after all...darn those kids!! everything is black and white for them!!!!
....until you turn 8, and all that teaching goes right out the window!
