home, home on the columbia!!

these past few weeks have been pretty uneventful, except for one thing... we bought a home!! the decision was quick but a correct one! i love when that happens.  ned and i had been playing around with the idea of buying a home, but after looking around and thinking about cost we thought we would wait a little while.  then a home in our neighborhood, which was in foreclosure, drastically dropped its asking price.  ned convinced me to look at it.  i wasn't on board at first because it wasn't going to have the yard i wanted, and since it was in foreclosure i figured it would be a dump.  however, i told him we could check it out since the price was right.  i was pleasantly surprised to find that even though it didn't have the huge yard we wanted, it wasn't a dump AND it had the square footage we wanted(3000 to be exact)!  five bedrooms, 3 full baths and a 3 car tandem garage were some of the unexpected surprises.  also, it has 3 living spaces, which allows ample room to entertain family and friends.   as we walked around the home, i knew immediately that i could live here.  this was the home we were suppose to buy.

we put in our offer and found out 24 hours later it was accepted.  the past few weeks have been long as we waited for all the paperwork and financing to get squared away.  and still as i write this we haven't actually received confirmation of funding, but we have been cleaning and packing just the same!!  we anticipate to be moved by tuesday night(since we do have to be out of our rental by then anyhow)!!  we are excited to be home owners again.  it has been a LONG 6 years since we sold our first home in hyrum, utah.  in fact, we sold that home in july of 2006, so we are almost exactly 6 years later!  crazy!

i definitely feel like heavenly father has had a hand in this decision.  i am not only grateful to my heavenly father for blessing us with a home, but i am so grateful to my hardworking, loving husband who provides for me and the kids.  he allows me to be home with our children and that is truly the best gift he could ever give me.  even through all the hard years when we struggled with unemployment and  job loss( i do not include law school, since i loved our law school years, even though we were less well off financially), i feel like he has never given up but just found another path so that he could provide for us.  i am so blessed to be married to such a self less person. here's to home ownership!! yay!!!
