dr. seuss day!  reading nooks with lots of books and seuss book inspired recipes!

he was teasing emma about getting in her nook.

emma participated in destination imagination this year.  she and her other team members worked for months in preparation for their competition this last weekend in spokane.  they had to perform a skit for 8 minutes as well as build a delivery device for golf balls and a structure that can support a large amount of weight.  while team members were performing the skit, other team members were placing weights on the structure as well as delivering golf balls.  it is complex to explain but it involved creative thinking.  it is a program that encourages thinking outside the box.  they also have to do instant challenges, where they are given different scenarios and have to instantly come up with  solutions to the problem.  they have to perform quickly on their feet and emma loves it!!

and they placed 3rd in their area.  emma was very excited!!
