just another update

its been awhile since i've posted. so, i thought i would give an update on what we have been up to. i promise it is super exciting(sarcasm added)! this is mostly for my benefit and so if you don't care, don't read on(you have been warned).

William: what a little cutie and tyrant all wrapped into 1 chunky bundle. he is a busy little toddler. at 15 months, william keeps busy with things such as: opening cupboards and unloading all the contents inside, climbing tables and throwing all the fruit in the bowl onto the floor, closing doors and locking himself in darkened rooms, following single commands,(ie: throw diaper in garbage, take shoes to daddy, etc.) screaming when he doesn't get his way or hitting the person who tells him "no," playing outside(rain, snow, wind, or sunshine), opening containers(he is surprisingly good at this), mimicking me as i clean the house(ie: grabbing the broom so he can sweep, grabbing the vacuum so he can vacuum, climbing onto a stool he brought from the bathroom so he can help me wash the dishes, grabbing the rake so he can rake up the leaves, EXHAUSTING), screaming, whining and more screaming. this is my latest challenge: teaching the kid to talk softly and not to scream loudly!!! he doesn't get it!
Isabella: issy is enjoying kindergarten. she enjoys centers, recess/snack and storytime. she says she doesn't enjoy spanish, however, she comes home counting to 20 in spanish, asking to use the bathroom in spanish and various other phrases. she is really into planning parties and inviting her friends over to play. she has some awesome dance moves and enjoys showing them off. she has also become quite the little mommy. she loves to help change williams diaper, give him a bath, play with him, attempt to get him out of his crib and various other HELPFUL things. she still has the ability to tell you how it is, even if you don't care to know(ie: she is often telling my friends that their floors are dirty or their cars are messy and they need to clean them, hello!!!!)

Emma: she is enjoying school except for the hour of math homework she has each night. she is in honors math but will tell you she hates math. basically, she doesn't like anything about school except art and free read/write time. currently, she is a huge fan of american girl dolls and sewing by hand. she is always creating something out of scraps of fabric. recently she performed a dance to the hawaiian rollercoaster(from lilo and stitch) song at a talent show. she did a fabulous job even though she said she was sooooooo scared!!

Hunter: hunter continues to excel in his schooling. he was recently moved from his honors math class to the highest math they are currently teaching at his school. he also excels at honors literacy and just finished reading the old man and the sea. before reading the old man and the sea, he read huck finn. after completing the book, their class decided to rewrite their own version of huck finn and performed a play for the entire school. it was a huge hit! it included not only fun scenes from the book but also a scene of so, you think you can dance including edward(twilight) as a judge and other funny dance scenes. it was hilarious! the picture below is with hunter wearing his costume from the final scene. they all dressed liked this and did a synchronized dance routine. can i say AWESOME!!! i was so proud of hunter, being on stage is not one of his most favorite pasttimes! ned continues to work nights at fedex and builds websites for people(dentist/lawyers, real estate agents) during the day. the web building is going slow as he gets everything into place and starts spreading the word but we are hoping it will take off and things will pick up. it is nice having him at home during the day if i need to run somewhere and william is napping, however, it is a challenge at times too. we have had to set up rules about "bugging" dad while working and ned putting away work so he can be "at home" with the family. since ned was laid off and we moved to slc, we have definitely had to readjust our outside activities. while it is sad not to be taking lessons right now, we know it isn't permanent. the positive to this is more family time and more meals together as a family. it has definitely been a blessing in our lives. the readjustment of family values and time together has been very rewarding.

i am teaching the kids piano and i am actually playing the piano for our church choir. it has been fun to brush up on some of my piano skills and learn how to play for a choir. ned is teaching in his quorum on sundays and i am also doing cubscouts during the week. i love it!! i have a small group which allows for getting a lot done quickly. i have never worked with scouts before so it has been a fun experience. hunter is also our den chief and he comes and helps me out.

utah has been having a FABULOUS fall. we have a had 2 snowy days, which didn't amount to much, and the rest of the time the weather has been beautiful. i love fall and so being able to spend time outside enjoying this wonderful time of year has been a huge blessing. we are still able to ride bikes and go to the parks and take walks. another blessing is that i have been able to go jogging since the weather continues to be nice. i love it!
