it's a di thing

emma had a great weekend in spokane at her annual destination imagination

competition.  it is really hard to explain what DI is all about, but 

essentially it involves taking a challenge and solving it through

creative inventions and skits.  you work with your team over the course

of several months to create your skit and set and to solve the challenge.

this year the "mixed independents" solved the technical challenge

and the fine arts challenge.

all ready to begin.  emma, tirzah, riley, leah, mila and bree. they have the regional
event at west valley high in spokane.  but we found out that they are moving
the regionals to richland next year, so that will be awesome to be close to home!

chatting before the days events.  they started off with 2 instant challenges.  they are
given a problem and then a time limit and certain supplies to complete the challenge.
they are observed on how well they work together and solve the challenge.

after they perform they are interviewed by the judges about their team elements.
their team did so well on all their set pieces this year.  they built an electrical worm,
built a tree and painted some great backdrops.

happy smiles after receiving 1st place for technical.  

at the end they came away with 1st in technical and fine arts both.  they also
received two special awards for their creative set pieces.
