a kellogg christmas holiday

this year we did something a little bit different for christmas.  we decided to take a little vacation to
a ski resort with some friends for the holiday.
we spent 5 days in kellogg, idaho at silver mountain ski resort.
not only did they have the snow sports to enjoy but they had an indoor waterpark
to enjoy as well.

first up, we went to a "real" gold mine.

we were there with the hamilton family. we had a
very knowledgeable guide for our tour. it was
very informative.

all of our hats had names on them. ned was 'happy."

william and zach in the gold mine.  we ended up
going 900 ft. below the surface. we saw some real gold
as well as other minerals.

worried we weren't going to have enough snow, we got dumped on the 2nd day there!

silver mountain.
we had to take a 20 min gondola ride up to the ski resort.

it was a pretty snowy evening for tubing...and pretty chilly!  but the
tubing hill was really really fun!! very fast! there's jeff with leighton
and william.

after tubing we came back and had enchiladas and tacos for dinner.  a tradition
in both the lewis and hamilton families.  then we did the nativity play! it was a fun night!
