trail girl-palouse falls and mother daughter fun

mother-daughter evening out:  shakespeare's the comedy of errors.
earlier that day we spent at palouse falls.

we spent a few hours hiking around the falls and enjoying the breathtaking views.

 snack break by the river

we even spotted some friendly neighborhood animals.  can you see what we saw? you have to look closely but it is long and spotted and says...sssssssssssssssssssssssss!
the kids enjoyed climbing around the rocks by the river.  the river was very swift and made me a little nervous when william wanted to venture too far out. however, we were able to find some rocks to cross over to a safe spot to get a closer view.

this is a picture of the actual falls.  it was very muddy this year.  we normally visit the falls at the end of may so i am not sure if it is usually this muddy earlier in the spring.
we walked along the railroad tracks for part of our hike and issy(our little worry wart)
was anxious the entire time.  she was too concerned to smile!
later, we actually did see a train.  this is william watching a train pass underneath
the bridge we were standing on.
we found some "roads less traveled" this time around as well.
we ventured further down the river, following a railroad, and were surrounded by the beauty of what reminded me of the landscape of england. it was beautiful!

while hunter and ned were off exploring a railroad tunnel, we explored some large climbing rocks.
we even saw a rabbit and some beautiful birds on our hike.
it was a fun relaxing afternoon of hiking! my kind of day!!
