wow! this weekend has been wonderful(except for the fight ned and i had, that is..heehee..we made up)!!! we made it through all 4 sessions of conference with the kids, thanks to the oodles of stuff you can find on the internet to help keep them occupied! there were so many wonderful talks, i had a hard time narrowing down my favorite.
coming into the final session on Sunday afternoon, i had decided that Prophet Thomas S. Monson and Richard G. Scott's talks were my favorite. and then Jeffery R. Holland began his fervent andprofound testimony of the truthfulness of the book of mormon and i was completely
blown away.
we were blessed to be sitting in the conference center for this session and hearing him declare with such ferver and emotion that the book of mormon was true, i just couldn't contain my emotions! it was one of the most powerful testimonies i had ever heard in my life. i wanted to jump out of my seat and shout, "I BELIEVE IT TOO, BRO. HOLLAND!!!!!"
i wish that i was more eloquent in expressing or writing my feelings and that i too could move people with my own testimony of the truthfullness of the book of mormon. but i am not, so i can only say plainly, that i have read the book of mormon and prayed about it and not once but more than once i have received that special feeling that comes from a loving heavenly father that it is true!! i can not deny it!! i hope that i never will!
when i recommitted to reading my scriptures this year, i knew that my testimony would grow. i had the faith that it could happen. but, i never realized how many questions, concerns or problems could actually be answered by faithful and deligent reading of the scriptures. while my problems haven't gone away and i still struggle, i am constantly finding the answers to how to handle the things that challenge me in my day to day life. it is nothing short of miraculous!! i love the scriptures and especially the book of mormon. i feel truly blessed to have a blueprint to follow and to help me in my life as i am trying to get home to my father in heaven.
