a few years ago, when i was living in utah and serving in the young women's presidency, the stake yw presidency challenged us to memorize the living christ, put out by the first presidency. at the time, i was working full-time, serving in yw, on the pta, trying to still be a mom and wife and i just thought, THERE IS NO WAY!!! however, not wanting to set a bad example, i made a commitment to myself that i could and would do it. since i did a bit of driving for my job, i decided this would be the perfect time to work on my memorization. we were given the challenge in january and were asked to complete it by august. i was surprised how easily i was able to memorize this wonderful testimony in only a few short weeks. i would often find myself overwhelmed with the spirit as i repeated the words outloud in my car to and from my appts. my testimony of jesus christ grew and i was filled with the spirit daily. it was such an awesome experience.
now, 4 years later i have rememorized the living christ. it only took a few days to remind myself of the words. again, i am filled with the spirit and my love for my savior is renewed. if you have a desire to gain a testimony of jesus christ or want to develop a greater love for your elder brother, i challenge you to memorize the living christ. it will change you!
