dance-filled family-filled weekend

the past few days have been filled with dance performances. i persuaded issy to take dance this last semester, since she is constantly dancing and performing at home. however, she didn't enjoy it as much as i thought she would and constantly asked to do gymnastics again. because i had already paid, i made her stick it out. even though she didn't enjoy the class so much, she did enjoy dancing with 2 of her best friends, stella and holly.

here's issy with her gal pal stella blue. at the end of the performance, their teacher gave all of them some flowers for a "job well done."

emma has been dancing with specturm 2 dance for the past 3 years. her classes are taught by shelley warner and she is FABULOUS!! emma began taking a combined tap/ballet class and then decided tap is what she really enjoys. so, the past 1 1/2 yrs. she has focused more on tap. this year for the end of year performance, they put on the "Lorax" by dr. seuss. emma and the rest of her tap class were the onceler family from the book. it was really fun to see how shelley incorporated all the different characters into the performance. there were all ages ranging from 3-adult. they did a wonderful job!!
here the kids are having fun at the end of the dance with their "truffula seeds."

backstage, receiving last minute reminders.

emma with her teacher, shelley warner!

the weather has been super duper nice this weekend, so we had to take advantage and spend some family time outside. ned and hunter started saturday off with 18 holes of golf and when they got home we packed up a lunch and headed off to a local park for a picnic, rollerblading and play time. of course, i had to take a few photos!

..................................................and yes, i did cut my hair. in fact, i cut 7 in. off and donated it to locks for love! i am still getting used to it, but the best part, NO MORE SHEDDING!!! yeah!!

Love the pictures! Those little teeny weeny dancing legs are so cute. Thanks for capturing all the events, I'm not gone yet, but I miss you! And I'm closer physically to you than anyone else in the ward! What's up with that?!
Love this post.
